- Remunerative or financial incentives. These exist when the agent can get more than just the material reward in the business.
- Moral incentives. These exist when a specific choice is said to be the proper action to make. It is often admirable. Failure to do this option is interpreted as indecent. Anyone acting on moral incentives basically expects approval, admiration and self-esteem from the team. Anyone acting against moral incentives can foresee a feeling of guilt and even condemnation and ostracism from the community.
- Coercive incentives. These exist when someone is expected to not do a particular action which is expected from them by the community.
